The new airport at Shimoga was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the airport constructed at Sogane, Shimoga at a cost of Rs 450 crore.

Speaking at the inauguration of the Kuvempu Airport in Shimoga, Prime Minister Modi said that this is not just an airport, it is a Udan Abhiyan.
