Indian forces have incapacitated three people, including a most wanted terrorist and Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militant commander, in an encounter with security forces in south Kashmir's Kulgam district on Wednesday night.
The militant commander killed in the encounter was Basit Ahmad Dar, the commander of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) offshoot group and The Resistant Front (TRF). He is said to have been involved in the killings of minorities and security personnel in the Valley region.
Two LeT terrorists killed along with Dar have been identified as Momin Gulzar and Fahim Ahmed Baba.
Encountering those involved in 18 murders is a big achievement for us. Inspector General of Police Kashmir VK Birdi said security personnel, civilians and minorities were involved in the operation.
