iPhone Tragedy in Maharashtra: Parents and Son Die After Falling Into Gorge
Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar: A family dispute over an iPhone EMI ended in tragedy after an 18-year-old youth and his parents died after falling from a steep cliff at Khavdya Hill in Maharashtra.
According to reports, the youth, identified as Kunal, had purchased an iPhone on EMI but struggled to make the payments. He reportedly asked his parents to help with the instalments, but they said they could not afford them, leading to an argument.
Following the dispute, Kunal allegedly went to the edge of a steep cliff and threatened to end his life. Police, family members and local residents spent nearly three hours attempting to convince him to move away from the edge.
During the rescue effort, Kunal's father reportedly moved closer and held his son's hand in an attempt to pull him to safety. However, both apparently lost their balance and plunged into the gorge.
Witnessing her husband and son fall, the distraught mother reportedly jumped after them. All three died in the incident.
Police and rescue teams recovered the bodies and initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
