IAF Deploys C-130J With 10 Tonnes of Relief Supplies to Flood-Hit Nepal

New Delhi: The Indian Air Force (IAF) has swiftly launched humanitarian assistance for Nepal following devastating flash floods, deploying a C-130J transport aircraft carrying 10 tonnes of essential relief materials and medical supplies.

The operation is part of India’s emergency response to the disaster, with additional airlift efforts being planned. The IAF said C-17 and C-130 aircraft will transport further consignments of relief material to affected areas.

Helicopters have also been earmarked for search, rescue and evacuation operations, particularly in areas cut off by floodwaters and damaged infrastructure.

The coordinated air operation is aimed at delivering critical supplies quickly while supporting Nepalese authorities in reaching communities affected by the flash floods.

The IAF emphasized that the mission reflects India’s commitment to assisting its neighbour during a humanitarian emergency, with aircraft and personnel prepared to respond rapidly as the situation develops.

Further relief flights and rescue operations are expected based on requirements assessed on the ground.
