Seven Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash on Hosakote–Dabaspet Highway
Seven people were killed in a devastating road accident on Friday after a chain collision involving a motorcycle, a car, and a canter truck on the Hosakote–Dabaspet Highway in Bengaluru Rural district.
As per the sources, the crash occurred near M. Satyavar in Hosakote taluk on the Hoskote–Dabaspet highway when the XUV hit a motorcycle and then crashed into a truck, triggering a severe impact that left the car mangled. Suspected that, XUV in the effort to avoid bike, collided with truck hitting the bike simultaneously.
Six passengers traveling in the car and the motorcyclist died at the scene before emergency services could intervene. All occupants of the car were reported to be residents of Bengaluru.
During the chaos, another car also became involved, resulting in a severe chain collision involving two cars, a canter, and a motorcycle. As a result of the crash, six occupants of the car and the motorcycle rider died instantly.
Local residents alerted authorities, and police along with ambulance teams rushed to the site to clear traffic and transport the victims. The bodies were shifted to Hosakote Government Hospital for post-mortem examination. Traffic movement on the highway was temporarily disrupted as officials conducted rescue and recovery operations.
Preliminary investigations suggest high speed and possible loss of vehicle control may have contributed to the collision, though police said the exact cause will be determined after forensic and mechanical inspection of the vehicles. Officers are reviewing CCTV footage from nearby toll and highway cameras and recording witness statements.
