DK Shivakumar Elected as Congress Legislature Party Leader Unanimously
Senior Congress leader D. K. Shivakumar has been unanimously elected as the leader of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) in Karnataka, according to an announcement by Congress General Secretary (Organisation) **K. C. Venugopal>.
Venugopal said the Congress high command had suggested Shivakumar’s name for the position. The proposal was formally moved by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and seconded by senior leader G. Parameshwara during the CLP meeting.
According to Venugopal, members of the Legislature Party unanimously approved the proposal, resulting in Shivakumar’s election as the CLP leader without opposition.
