Under-trial prisoner commits suicide by hanging himself from the gallows

The incident in which an under-trial prisoner committed suicide by hanging himself from the pancha took place in the sub-jail of the district.

Karkala native Sadananda Serigar, who was jailed in a murder case, is an undertrial prisoner who committed suicide. At five o'clock in the morning today, 20 prisoners committed suicide by hanging themselves from a rope.

The accused also died on the way while taking him to the hospital after noticing this incident.
