Vijapura case of breaking voting machines and assaulting an officer: 25 accused arrested!

25-30 people have been arrested in connection with the case of damaging the voting machine by mistakenly attacking the official while transporting extra voting machines in Masabinala village.
The incident took place in Masabanala village of Basavanbagewadi Constituency when villagers suspected that they were carrying voting machines during voting.
The villagers expressed their anger by breaking the reserved EVM machine and VVPATs. The act took place while the voting machines which had been reserved in addition were being taken back to Vijayapura from Bisana, Donura village.
Election officials have instructed the sector officer to lodge a complaint with the Managuli police station in the wake of the damage to the voting machine, attack on the sector officer and damage to the vehicle.
After the incident, additional police were dispatched to Masabinala village. The voting process continues. Police have arrested 25-30 people in connection with the case.
Villagers damaged EVM, VVPATs and car. Action will be taken against whoever is involved in this act. SP HD Anand Kumar has warned that if the law is taken into hand, the action will be fixed.
