Stone pelting during Eid Milad procession, enforcement of Section 144

Stone pelting by miscreants during Eid Milad celebration in Shimoga city has created a tense situation.

Thousands of Muslims were marching in Shimoga city on the occasion of Eid Milad. It is said that miscreants pelted stones in Ragigudda area of Shantinagar and the situation was tense.

Rapid Action Force visited the place and dispersed the crowd and took control of the situation. SP GK Mithun Kumar visited the place and inspected it.

In this background, Section 144 was implemented in Ragugudda area and Shimoga District Collector Dr. Selvamani ordered. It is known that during the light lathicharge in Shantinagar, the miscreants also pelted stones on the police.
