Case of assault on AAP Rajya Sabha MP at CM Kejriwal home office: Swati Maliwal filed a complaint
The Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal has filed a written complaint over the assault, and said she hopes "appropriate action" will be taken.
It's said that, the Delhi Police visited Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Swati Maliwal's residence on Thursday to record her statement in connection with the alleged assault on her by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's aide.
The police team, led by an Additional Commissioner of Police (ACP) rank officer, spent nearly four hours seeking details from the Rajya Sabha MP, according to a source.
Following the complaint, the AAP MP Maliwal said she hopes “appropriate action will be taken" in social media to write on the developments for the first time, since she made the allegations.
“What happened to me was very bad. I have given my statement to the police on the incident that happened to me. I hope that appropriate action will be taken,” she wrote.
“The last few days have been very difficult for me. I thank those who prayed for me. Those who tried to do character assassination, said that she was doing it on the instructions of the other party, may God keep them happy too,” Maliwal further wrote on X.
The Rajya Sabha MP said, an “important election” is going on and “Swati Maliwal is not important, the issues of the country are important. There is a special request to BJP people to not do politics on this incident”. She made a “special request to BJP people to not do politics on this incident”.
Maliwal, former head of the Delhi Commission for Women(DCW), alleged on Monday that a member of Kejriwal's personal staff, Bibhav Kumar, "assaulted" her at the chief minister's official residence. However, no formal complaint was filed then.
