Samrat Choudhary Sworn In as Bihar Chief Minister After Exit of Nitish Kumar

Senior BJP leader Samrat Choudhary has taken oath as the new Chief Minister of Bihar, following the resignation of veteran leader Nitish Kumar.

Choudhary, a prominent OBC face within the party, was chosen as the consensus leader after internal deliberations.

Governor officials administered the oath of office at a ceremony in Patna, marking a significant shift in Bihar’s political landscape. Sources indicate that a new council of ministers is expected to be expanded soon.

Meanwhile, Nitish Kumar’s exit has triggered fresh political reactions, with opposition parties questioning the stability of governance and alleging political opportunism. Supporters of the new government, however, described the change as necessary for stronger administration and development.

Choudhary, in his initial remarks, emphasized governance, law and order, and development as key priorities, while assuring continuity in welfare schemes.
